The New Year brings a lot of changes, some of them welcome and some of them cringe-worthy and unwarranted. For many of us, especially the voluptuous and curvy ones, New Year’s resolutions often include some type of weight loss goal.
For some of us, weight gain and changes in our body are inevitable. Puberty brings long awaited breasts and fuller butt cheeks whereas pregnancy brings almost too-full breasts, swollen feet and a stomach that blocks us from seeing our toes… or even bending down to touch them.
But we at Maxim are urging you to change your New Year’s goals a little bit and to think of them differently. Instead of thinking about losing weight, think about getting healthier – eating better, exercising more, drinking more water, and being aware of the choices we make every day.
If your body is changing – embrace it! Don’t fear it. Instead of bemoaning the change and giving up, recognize the cause and explore yourself and your thoughts at each and every stage. To help you do this, here are 3 of the most stunning pregnancy portraits we could find. The greatest thing about these photographs isn’t the artistic capturing of the belly, but rather the hope that each photograph contains.
1. This photograph from “Evolve- A Woman’s Journey” – A twist on the Roman statues that celebrated the perfection of bodies and the draping of fabric.
2. This photograph by celebrity photographer Rachel Jeraffi reminds us how natural it is to be pregnant. Adorned with flowers, naked and with her face hidden, the woman exemplifies how she can be any woman – any one of us.
3. This photograph that reminds us that no matter what we look like, our family loves us. That being a mother is a journey and that pregnancy (and all the pain it comes with) is just temporary; that the end result is a child, who will always touch us in some way.
These photographs remind all of us the innate beauty we all hold as women – the biology that makes us women is what can make us mothers. It creates a bond and a love that has been described as unparalleled. All of us are beautiful because we are women.
And that is the message we at Maxim Hygiene Products want to send as we all move into the New Year and we consider what we want to change about ourselves or how we could look “better.” Sometimes our body changes, but it doesn’t change who we are. Our bodies don’t define us, but they can be the result of something beautiful. And a healthy body is a beautiful body. The same is true of products. Don’t let fancy packaging distract you. Read labels to learn about what’s on the inside, cuz that’s what really counts. That being said, look out for Maxim’s new packaging style announced last year to be extended to the ultra thin line of products and available on shelves in the coming months. We’re hoping these changes help our product’s true all around beauty ooze from the inside out in a bigger and better way!
Tell us what you think about our new packaging and comment below about what the images above inspire in you and how you see beauty in a woman’s body, no matter what shape, size or form.
Happy New Year!!
