Hello all!
It’s our favorite time of week…Friday Fun Day! For those of you who don’t know, Friday Fun Day is a way for the Maxim Hygiene team to come together at the end of a busy week and have a little fun. Each week, a different member of our team will be in charge of creating a fun way to start our Friday. This week, Maxim Hygiene’s Vice President, Rebecca was in charge. Here’s what Rebecca has to say:
There used to be a time when I would get to the office a little early every day just so that I can take a brisk walk to the neighborhood pond. I used to use this time to help clear my mind and get the blood flowing through my body in anticipation of the work day, but sadly enough as we continue to grow, my morning walks have turned in to morning catch up quiet time in the office before everyone gets here. No worries, I still get my weekly exercise through my weekly love for zumba and practice of yoga, but boy, do I miss those walks!!!
As the Spring time weather finally starts to roll in, I’m reminded of those walks and decided to share the old tradition with my Maxim team, so today for Friday Fun Day, we headed out to the pond to enjoy the beautiful weather and clear our minds. As I used to do, at the start of the walk, I requested everyone set an intention for the walk that would involve choosing an issue that was bugging them and getting in the way of clearing their minds. I also asked everyone to pay extra attention to their breath throughout the walk and to imagine that with every exhale we could rid our bodies and minds of that bug contaminating our thoughts and ability to stay present and in the moment. Once the intention was set, we set on our merry walk. Upon reaching the pond, I asked everyone to quiet their minds with a five minute meditation that started with taking their largest breath and completely mentally dumping in to the pond all the remaining thoughts related to their intention. Mother Nature has a way of healing our deepest worries and concerns. Although she can’t handle the physical pollution we bombard her with, she is more than happy to heal our thoughts, so the next time you’re feeling a little down or clouded, take a breather, brisk walk or have an exchange with mother nature. Happy Breathable Friday!
